The DHS Master Training of
Trainers (TOT) Workshop is designed for any professional (experienced or new
trainer) who is responsible for organizing, implementing and evaluating
training programs. It is based on the participatory approach and focuses on
equipping counterparts with effective facilitation skills. The workshop focusses on adult learning
principles and provides participants with an understanding of the foundations
of effective training design. Participants
are introduced to the principles that guide adult learning and how to apply
effective training methods and techniques to transfer knowledge, skills and
abilities in any technical area. During the workshop participants will receive
support and guidance in preparing and leading teach back sessions on a topic of
their choosing. At the completion of the theory and practical classroom
training, each participant conducts a one and a half hour teaching session in
the DHS context while integrating the adult learning theory principles from the
workshop. At the end of the workshop participants will be able to apply their
new knowledge and skills in future trainings.
